Nicole is an affordable housing architect and advocate committed to enhancing the quality and experience of New Yorkers and the built environment they call home. She believes that collaboration and community engagement are critical to the successful execution of projects and has enjoyed working closely with clients and creative teams on architectural, open space, and other site-specific projects. After founding Shakespeare Gordon Vlado Architects in 2017, Nicole pivoted from traditional practice to support New York City’s public housing residents as the Director of Capital Projects at the Public Housing Community Fund. Nicole co-chairs the AIANY Housing Committee, the nycoba NOMA Cultural Facilities committee, and serves as an adjunct faculty member teaching Professional Practice at the Cooper Union. She also creates site-specific installations and performances including a commission for the 33rd Sao Paulo Bienal set within and designed in response to Oscar Niemeyer’s iconic Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion.
